Pre-Primary School

BGS is actively in rendering its services to the remote and neglected areas of rural Bangladesh where people are deprived from their basic needs. Today’s development thinkers and researchers have pointed out different causes that illustrate poverty. And education is the building block to get rid from deprivation trap. We still found that many parts of Bangladesh where literacy rate is too low. And Bangladesh being an active considering the above aspects, BGS has been operating child education programme since its inception and the programme received well acceptance by the local community and BGS gained a well reputation in working areas. The programme determines some specific objectives which are given below:

  • Creation of an opportunity and development of school going habit among the children age between 5-7 years old;
  • Complementary support to the total initiative of the government and local organizations targeting to reach the rate of literacy in Bangladesh.
  • Increasing the percentage of school-going children.

In the present stage, BGS is operating 60 pre-schools in its project areas of Ukhiya and Matarbari unions under Moheshkhali Upazila of Cox’s Bazar district and Mogra and Gala union of Tangail district. The children age is determined 5+, so that after one year schooling, these children become ready to get admission into local primary schools. Each pre-school accommodates 30 children for one year. BGS appointed all female teachers to encourage women participation in the social and development activities in the society.

Supporting efforts towards millennium development goals, It is encouraging information that during last decade more than 50,000 children come out from BGS pre-school after completion of 1 year pre-schools education which is definitely a complementary support to child literacy education efforts of Bangladesh government.
